Product description

The common characteristic of Schleich figures is meticulous, detailed workmanship and hand painting.

Giant tortoises are usually solitary, but use common water and food sources when food is scarce. Its food is grasses, leaves, lichens and animal carcasses. Food is often scarce on Aldabra Island, so the Aldabra Giant Tortoise is forced to search for seaweed in the shallow water. Considering that its habitat is poor in water, it tolerates drought well, and covers most of the necessary water from its food.

They do not have a developed social sense, they mostly move alone, but sometimes, especially for grazing, several people can gather. They are active in the morning, then as the temperature rises, they retreat to the shade and burrows. Their daily travails have become well-trodden paths over the years and centuries, which are also used by the other inhabitants of the island. They can also swim well, and for being turtles, they can accelerate surprisingly in the event of danger.
