SCHLEICH 14761 Wild Life African elephant cow

The common characteristic of Schleich figures is meticulous, detailed workmanship and hand painting.

We know that elephants have very thick skin. However, it is also very sensitive and can even burn. Because of this, elephants often smear themselves with several layers of mud. This layer also helps them in the heat: it cools their body. While elephants can't hear better than other animals with their large ears, this part of their body helps them cope with the African heat. When they move their ears, their blood cools, providing them with refreshment.
