    The Samsung 990 is an M.2 PCIe solid-state drive in the 2280 form factor with a capacity of 1000 GB. It uses the PCIe 4.0 interface and the NVMe protocol, reaching read speeds of up to 7150 MB/s and write speeds of up to 6450 MB/s according to the manufacturer. This makes it well suited to fast system boot times, quicker application loading and rapid file transfers.

    The TLC NAND memory is designed for durability and reliable operation, including under heavy workloads. Its endurance rating of 400 TBW points to a long service life and consistent performance over time. A built-in heatsink helps keep temperatures under control.

    At around 10 g and in the compact M.2 2280 size, the drive can be installed easily in both laptops and desktop computers.
