How can we forgive the unforgivable? As a child, Sammy Rangel was sexually molested by his uncle, and physically and mentally abused by his mother and stepfather. He was 11 years old when he was taken from the correctional institution to the street, which led him to gang leadership in the North American underworld steeped in drugs, crime, sex and violence. During his adolescence and adulthood, he spent more than 15 years in various penitentiary institutions.
However, Sammy's story took a strange turn: he got rid of his addictions with the help of a rehabilitation program and earned a university degree. Currently, as a consultant, he helps the police work in non-violent conflict resolution and in situations related to street gangs.
