RODE SMR premium shock mount with Rycote Lyre suspension and pop-filter

The RØDE SMR is made with the market-leading Rycote Lyre anti-vibration technology and is available with a Pop Filter.

The unique dual Rycote Lyre suspension works even more efficiently than the single version of the technology. In this case, a larger and a smaller cradle-shaped spring rubber structure serves to dampen the vibrations at the same time. Thus, the two rubber cradles are always in the neutral position where they filter the vibrations most effectively.

The SMR also includes a metal mesh pop filter. The pop filter is not only eye-catching, but also effective - but only as much as necessary. Measurements prove that pop filters with metal mesh degrade the sound less than their counterparts with fabric mesh, they are easy to clean and last much longer. The pop filter can be easily removed from the SMR microphone holder when it is not needed.

The SMR microphone holder can be tilted forwards and backwards, but thanks to its special clamping structure, it can also be installed upside down, for example on a microphone stand suspended from the ceiling. The contact surface of the clamping structure has been increased, so that due to the higher friction factor, it is not necessary to tighten too strongly to hold even heavier microphones. A microphone cable holding tab has also been added to the clamp to facilitate cable management.

The frame of the SMR is made of a reinforced polymer that can be found in security, automotive and military technologies. Thanks to the Rycote Lyre suspension system, the vibrations are evenly distributed on the outer, large ring, and they no longer appear on the inner ring.

The SMR uses the traditional threaded microphone mounting method for RØDE microphones, and includes a threaded clamping ring with which all large-diaphragm RØDE studio microphones can be attached.
