RODE SM5 shock mount with ring-clamp connection

The RØDE SM5 is an anti-vibration microphone holder that can be attached to the rifle microphone holder ring of professional cameras, thus enabling the mounting of microphones that cannot be directly attached to the ring.

The microphone ring on most cameras is lined with rubber or sponge to protect the microphone from vibration noise. The silicone rings of the SM5 isolate the microphone from the external environment much more effectively, thus preventing unexpected noises and vibrations from entering the recording. Thus, the use of the SM5 is recommended even if the microphone could otherwise be attached directly to the microphone holder ring of the camera.

The SM5 microphone holder is compatible with microphone holder rings with a diameter of 24mm and 27mm, but thanks to the rubber or sponge lining of the rings, it can also be used for 1-2mm smaller diameters.

The microphone holder can also be used with microphones of other manufacturers with a diameter of 20-22 mm.
