RODE NT-SF1 Soundfield ambisonic 3D VR spatial microphone

The RØDE NT-SF1 is an ambisonic 3D and VR microphone that records studio-quality 360-degree surround audio in A-Format across four separate channels. Four 1/2-inch true condenser capsules are arranged in a tetrahedral configuration, allowing it to pick up sound sources from any direction in the space. The microphone body is machined from a solid brass block, giving it a sturdy build.

The free SoundField by RØDE plugin converts the native A-Format into B-Format, so the virtual microphone position can be changed in any direction during post-production. This supports mono, stereo, surround up to 7.1.4, and head-tracked full 360-degree soundfields. The NT-SF1 is well suited to capturing surround sound for computer games, sports and live music broadcasts, films and other 3D and VR content.

The plugin is available in VST, AU and AAX formats and works with popular audio software including Pro Tools, Nuendo, Reaper and Logic. The package includes a zeppelin windshield, a furry windshield, a shock-isolating microphone holder and a Mogami breakout cable.
