The novel, rich in exciting twists and turns, tells the hair-raising adventures of a young boy, Jim Hawkins, who embarks on a ship with his companions under the spell of an island hiding treasures following a map found under dramatic circumstances. However, the pirates also find out about the treasure, who also secretly join the ship's crew and prepare for a mutiny under the leadership of pirate captain John Silver.
