Divorce of parents is always a big shock in a child's life. Through Barni's story, we can glimpse into the labyrinth of tangled feelings of a child going through a divorce. The book tells the story of the calm before the storm in the voice of a schoolboy, and what it's like when something unexpected hits: dad moves away, and Barni thinks it all happened because of him. He talks honestly about anger, pain, sadness, hope and reconciliation. I recommend the book to all children, and I heartily recommend it to adults as well, to keep in mind how important it is to pay attention and respond sensitively to the emotional needs of children in this common but always difficult situation.
