Piroch Gábor - Hollywoodland

Gábor Piroch, nominated for the Oscar for stuntmen, has traveled the whole world from Budapest to Hollywood in half a century, and is now known as a professional stunt coordinator and director in Hungary as well as overseas. In his latest book, he introduces the reader to the exciting behind-the-scenes aspects of the stunt profession through his personal experiences as well as domestic and foreign film shoots. We can follow your adventures in a cinematic way, from the most popular film series to attention-grabbing commercials to large-scale Hungarian and international productions such as Kincsem, Transformers 3, World War Z, Die Hard - Drágáb mint az léted, Szárnyas fejvádász 2049, Terminator: Dark doom, or the Dune. The author honestly presents what it means to stand up in Western productions as an East-Central European, to work as a horseman in California if necessary, or to relax on the beach with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. We can learn how a truly spectacular stunt show is prepared, what it's like to swing a sword suspended in the air, jump from a height of several floors or blaze like a living torch. Dedication, perseverance and humility - without these, someone will hardly become a stuntman, recognized beyond the borders, and by the time we get to the end of the captivating actions, the reader will also see why.
