Product description
The passive PoE injector and splitter set provides power to network devices that do not support Power over Ethernet, delivering it over a standard Ethernet cable. The injector feeds the voltage from its own power supply onto the network line, and the splitter separates it again at the device end. This allows equipment to be installed where no mains socket is available.
The kit is especially useful for mounting IP cameras or access points in locations with no power outlet nearby. The adapter pair transmits 5, 9 or 12 V alongside a 10/100 Mbit/s network connection.
Because of the cable's internal resistance, reliable operation is best kept within 30 to 40 metres. For longer runs, active standard-compliant 48 V PoE devices are recommended.
