NRGkick's E + F type "earthed contact" smart plug is used to connect the charging unit to a standard household earthed socket in the EU. The maximum charging current is up to 13 amperes. The NRGkick charging unit's patented safety plug system offers temperature monitoring and protection against socket overheating. The plug connector for sockets with protective contact has double temperature monitoring on both contacts. This means that the NRGkick knows exactly if excessive heat is generated due to an improperly installed socket. If the socket overheats, the NRGkick regulates the charging current completely independently. Automatic removal detection completely eliminates arcing when the plug is removed from the connector unit during charging; the flow of current is interrupted before the contacts leave each other. The NRGkick also detects if the socket has been incorrectly connected or installed incorrectly, for example if a second phase has been connected to a three-phase socket instead of a neutral. This means that it can use an LED signal on the charging unit and the plug unit to notify the user that there is a problem with the outlet and prevent charging. The NRGkick's plug-in accessories connect to the NRGkick's connector unit, where there is an additional LED display that keeps you informed of the charging unit's status. NRGkick plug accessories click noticeably and securely into place; accidental removal is impossible. At the same time, the non-slip surface of the connection system with soft parts ensures that the connection fixings can be removed and replaced quickly and easily if necessary. NRGkick fully automatically recognizes and identifies the plug. This ensures that the charging current does not exceed the maximum value at which the plug is allowed to be connected.
