Csibe is the adopted daughter of the writer. She grew up as a Lelenc child on a farm, and was a proletarian girl who went to bed in the capital. Zsigmond Móricz met Erzsébet Litkei in 1934 and gave her the legendary name. He made about 1,500 pages of notes from his dramatic narratives and wrote 28 short stories from them. The writing string is both a sociographic and psychological experiment, social criticism, a naturalistic, yet lyrical representation of mocked and mutilated lives. Our volume presents a selection of these short stories, as poignant news from a world that has disappeared forever, as Csibe's moral purity, insight, resilience, and directness can be remembered for a long time in the hearts of young people and adults alike.
