The MINISFORUM N5 Air is a NAS server built around an AMD Ryzen 7 255 processor with 8 cores and 16 threads, designed for storing files, running backups and streaming media. It runs the manufacturer's MinisCloud operating system and supports virtual machines and Docker containers. Total storage capacity can reach up to 174 TB.

Five SATA bays accept 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch drives, while three M.2 NVMe slots with PCIe 4.0 add fast SSD storage. RAID 0, 1, 5 and 6 can be configured to suit either performance or data protection needs. The two LAN ports offer 10GbE and 5GbE connectivity, which speeds up large file transfers on the local network.

The integrated Radeon 780M graphics handle display output through HDMI 2.1 and two USB4 ports with DisplayPort 2.0 support. The pull-out chassis makes drives and memory easy to access, and two 9225 axial fans provide cooling.
