Milly Johnson - A pompás Mrs. Mayhew

As a dutiful politician's wife, Sophie Mayhew's only goal in life is to balance the career of her successful and ambitious husband. He willingly bears the hypocritical world around him, the constant lies and intrigues. But one day, John Mayhew, who is only one step away from the prime ministership, gets involved in a nasty scandal, and for the first time in her life, Sophie's mouth is not written by press magicians, but her own, unsolicited opinion. His outburst adds to the scandal, and Sophie thinks he should disappear for a while. He changes his name, his appearance, and hides in his childhood favorite, a small seaside town, until the storm passes. The locals immediately rally for the victim, and Sophie finally feels that they don't see her as the politician's wife, but as herself. But the machinery of politics does not stop, and Sophie must decide: will she return to her husband and her comfortable life, or will she choose an uncertain, but perhaps happier future?
