The "dual boot" feature allows you to select the operating system you want to use, routeros or switchos. If you prefer to run a simplified switch, you have multiple switching features, use Switchos. If you use Winbox and want to use routing and other layers 3 on one port of CRS, start and use the router. You can select the desired operating system from the load settings of the router, switch or routerboot.

This provides all the basic features for a managed switch, plus more: it allows port to port transmission, MAC filter application, configuration of VLANs, reflects traffic, bandwidth restriction, and some MAC and IP headers. The SFP cage supports both 1.25 gigabit SFP and 10 gigabit SFP+ modules.
