"His wonders defined his ideas about time." The stormy waves of 19th century history throw the characters of the book to foreign shores, so that they all travel around their islands after the trauma of the shipwreck of the Liberty from Europe to America . The heroes of these synchronized stories sometimes get close to each other, but most of the time they remain in their own stories and struggle with memory as characters in fading photographs and gelatin prints, fighting for a better and more beautiful ending. They rebel, resign, run away, try to return home. Then they wave because they can't arrive, but they're not on their way anymore. They want a place for themselves on the beautiful stage of liberalism, where fate is the master of the stage, and the seats in the airships are already taken or there are no passengers on them.
