MEROSS MS605MAT-EU smart presence sensor (Matter Thread)

The MEROSS MS605MAT-EU is a smart presence sensor that connects to smart home systems via Matter over Thread. It combines a 24 GHz mmWave radar, a PIR sensor and a light sensor to detect movement and presence reliably over a range of up to 6 metres, even when motion is minimal. The device runs on Thread and is set up through the Meross app, so no separate Meross hub is required.

The detection area can be divided into seven zones, which helps filter out unwanted triggers such as fans or plants. Compatible with Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa and SmartThings, it supports automations based on presence and brightness. It is powered by a CR123A battery, which the manufacturer rates for up to 36 months of operation.

The IP67-rated housing is dust-tight and waterproof and designed for operating temperatures from -20 to 60 °C, so it can be used both indoors and outdoors. The package includes the sensor, a CR123A battery, hook-and-loop mounting tape, a battery compartment opener and a user manual.
