Melanie Benjamin - A Ritz úrnője

Nothing bad can happen at the Ritz, within its gold-covered walls every woman can become beautiful and every man witty. Privileged guests, including Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Coco Chanel or the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, enter the door to be greeted in the lobby by Blanche Auzello and her husband, Claude Auzello, the hotel's director. The hosts of the Ritz let the glitz and glamor distract them not only from the difficulties of their relationship, but also from the secrets they keep - not only from the guests, but also from each other.
Until June 1940, when the German army entered Paris and designated the Ritz as its headquarters. The beautiful and reckless American Blanche and the extremely calm French Claude are forced to thrive in a new and frightening reality, which breeds more secrets and lies and could easily destroy their marriage. Because in order to survive and to deal a blow to their Nazi "guests", they have to ensnare everyone who is dear to their hearts. But they also have a secret in common. A secret that threatens both their lives and the existence of the legendary Ritz.
Mistress of the Ritz is based on real events, full of intense anticipation, a timeless love story about an exemplary relationship between a woman and a man who find the best in each other even in the turmoil of war.
