Márki István - Villámok a felhők mélyén

In today's Kingdom of Hungary, the happy golden age is coming to an end, as the crisis of the German Empire, which dominates world politics, affects the country as well. Demonstrations and assassinations shatter the centuries-old peace. Péter Bessenyei, a loyal supporter of the existing system, still feels that his life is on track, as he has a beautiful bride, a secure job, and encouraging prospects for the future. That's when he receives a letter from his deceased grandfather, which reveals the existence of a parallel world where his country was probably not on the side of the winners at the end of the Great War.

At first, Péter does not believe what is described, but inexplicable phenomena begin: locations, inhabitants, and life situations of an unknown reality appear in everyday life, which cause confusion and give another impetus to the imminent social changes. Péter gradually understands his grandfather's role in the development of events, and also that he cannot exclude himself from the accelerating process. From one moment to the next, he finds himself in the center of interest of the forces shaping politics, and he also learns what role the unknown Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla, who lives in the other world, plays in the events.
