MAGUS Stereo 8B is a binocular stereomicroscope with a rotating head. You can use it to work on three-dimensional samples: The microscope creates a three-dimensional image with great depth of field and conveys an authentic image of the object. In this way, the necessary operations on the object can be conveniently performed. The Greenough microscope with independent optical channels has a stereoscopic angle of 15° and its working area ranges from 105 mm (according to the basic configuration) to 177 mm (optional). The basic work methods performed on the device in transmitted and reflected light (light field) can be supplemented with the dark field method and the simple polarization available with accessories.

The microscope head contains two tubes and is supplemented with 10x magnification eyepieces with a 22 mm field of view. A digital camera can be mounted in one of the tubes instead of the eyepiece. The head can be rotated around its own axis and set to any position.

The primary magnification is provided by the magnifying lens. Along with smooth magnification, it adjusts the focal length of the optical system so that the focus always remains on the subject. The MAGUS Stereo 8B microscope enables 8.4:1 magnification. You can change the magnification or the field of view as well as the working distance using auxiliary lenses.

Focus is adjusted with coaxially positioned buttons; there is also a coarse and fine setting. Fine focusing is recommended at magnifications greater than 40x. The buttons are located on the sides of the stand. The stiffness of the coarse focus shift can be adjusted by the user.

Both transparent and opaque samples can be observed under the microscope. The stage was equipped with two plates for these purposes: one transparent and one black and white. It is necessary to work in the first transmitted light. The object is thus exposed to soft, even light. The second plate is installed when working in reflected light. Its surface should contrast with the object.

The object is illuminated by two LED lights with transmitted and reflected light. Both have a power of 3 W and a useful life of 50,000 hours.

This product line of microscopes is complemented by a wide selection of accessories. The user can purchase eyepieces and additional lenses to adjust magnification, field of view, and working distance. You can add a digital camera to record your observations or display them on a large screen. Paired with a camera or an eyepiece with a scale, a calibration slide can help you measure the sample or its individual elements. Several types of lighting fixtures can be used to effectively examine the sample: a classic ring lighting fixture, a ring lighting fixture with a polarizer for examining smooth metal objects (which eliminates reflections), a ring lighting fixture with a sector controller to adjust the appropriate fall of light and shadows, and a lighting fixture with a flexible arm that can be directed to a specific point. You can choose a suitable stand to mount the microscope head in the optimal position. Placing the object on a mechanical stage allows the object to move smoothly and evenly along two axes. To work in the dark field or polarized light, the microscope can be equipped with a dark field condenser or polarizing device. When the condenser is used in conjunction with a gem clip, the stereomicroscope can be converted into an excellent tool for jewelry work.
