Product description
The MAGUS Metal 600 BD is a metallographic microscope designed for examining samples in reflected light. It supports brightfield, darkfield and polarization techniques and is intended for metal and semiconductor samples as well as other flat, polished specimens with high reflectivity. Transmitted light allows translucent samples such as thin films and particles trapped on filters to be observed.

In its basic configuration the magnification ranges from 50x to 400x, and additional objectives and eyepieces extend this range. A triple-tube head with a beam splitter allows a digital camera to be attached. The flat achromatic objectives with long working distance cover both brightfield and darkfield work. Illumination is provided by halogen lamps, 50 W for reflected light and 30 W for transmitted light, arranged for Köhler illumination.

The stage moves along two axes and accommodates samples up to 20 mm high, with a glass insert for transparent specimens. Coaxial coarse and fine focusing knobs sit at the base. The instrument weighs 14.5 kg.
