Product description
The MAGUS CHD20 product is a digital camera that can be mounted on a microscope. It is designed for recording and editing research photos and videos, as well as for linear and angular measurement of objects and their structures. The device has its own software, so it can be connected not only to a computer, but also directly to an external screen. Therefore, the camera has two types of interfaces: HDMI and USB.
The camera captures high-quality Full HD images (1920x1080 pixels) and provides high frame rates and data transfer rates between devices. Thanks to the Sony sensor with high light sensitivity, pictures can be taken even in fluorescent light. Another feature of the camera is the use of RGB mosaic filters. It reduces the dark current and provides a clear image. The entire camera system is designed to provide high-quality images without tearing, freezing or distortion, even when observing a moving object.
Sensor
The small size (1/2", 3.75x3.75 μm pixel size) SONY Starvis color CMOS sensor has a high light sensitivity (1175 mV at 1/30 sec shutter speed) and allows shooting even in low light conditions. This backlight If you want to get the widest possible field of view without distortion, we recommend using a 0.5-0.7x magnification adapter.
Software
The camera also comes with an installation disc containing the software required to use the device. Thanks to the built-in software, the MAGUS CHD20 camera can also be used independently to take photos and videos and process them directly on the device, or even to measure objects. To perform the measurements, the software must first be calibrated for each lens with a calibration slide.
Connecting to external devices
MAGUS CHD20 can be connected to an external screen or computer, and also supports the integration of additional devices. The device can be connected to a monitor, TV or projector via the HDMI interface (playback at 60 frames/sec). You can connect the camera to a computer via a USB 2.0 interface (playback at 50 fps).
The camera also comes with a 32 GB SD card. You can save photos and videos on it and then process them with the built-in software. The USB interface allows you to connect a pen drive.
You should use a mouse for camera applications. This is also included in the kit - it is designed to help eliminate vibrations that can occur during direct contact with the camera.
The device can be used together with MAGUS monitors, which can be mounted directly on the camera, thus forming a microscopic imaging system.
Mounting on a microscope
The camera can be fitted to the eyepiece tube of the microscope using a C-socket adapter and an adapter ring that matches the diameter of the tube (sold separately). The device can be mounted in the trifocal tube with a C-socket adapter.
