Maderspach Viktor - Menekülésem Erdélyből - Élményeim a nyugat-magyarországi szabadságharcból
Product description
One of our national heroes, Viktor Maderspach, remains loyal to his homeland even after the Trianon tragedy, and he is forced to become a Romanian citizen and tries to live on his estate. They won't let it. Because of his involvement in World War II and his actions in the Székely Division, he is a big game for the Romanian secret police. The series of harassments and provocations soon forces him to act: in May 1921, he is literally forced to break out of the family nest, and after an armed struggle, he escapes from his estate and heads for Csonka-Hungary, across the snowy mountains from the battalion soldier who was chasing him...
The article My Escape from Transylvania is about his adventurous and incredibly exciting journey.
After his arrival in Hungary, he immediately joined the armed struggle for Western Hungary. He goes into battle again with the remnants of his former detachments and new companions. In August 1921, he was already there in the liberation battles around Sopron, and in September he was a part of the victory of the Ragged Guards, who overthrew the Austrian gendarmerie. Until the end of September, he was the commander of the V. Insurgent "army" in Nagymarton, then an officer of the Ostenburg battalion in Sopron...
His writing, previously published in a series in a daily newspaper, entitled My Experiences from the West Hungarian Freedom Struggle, is about his experiences.
