Product description
The Levenhuk LabZZ tellurium is a mechanical tabletop model illustrating the rotation of the Earth and the Moon around the Sun. Tellurium helps children learn what causes the seasons, how the phases of the moon change, and why there are twelve months in the year. Tellurium is a great visual aid for astronomy and geography classes.
The tellurium is attached to a stand by means of a screw. All the parts of the tellurium are connected to each other through gears. The Earth and Moon model can be operated by turning a small lever.
In the center of the rotating mechanism is a sun model with a removable top. The solar lamp consists of two halves, and two batteries/accumulators can be placed inside. The light of the Sun can be turned on with the button under the pedestal. In order to replace the batteries, the top part of the Nap model fixed with a pin must be removed.
The Earth orbits the Sun in a counterclockwise direction. With the help of tellurium, you can observe the change of seasons. While the Earth goes around the Sun once, the Moon goes around the Earth 12 times, corresponding to the 12 months of the year.
The main elements of the model are made of durable and safe plastic. The diameter of the Sun model is 100 mm, the diameter of the Earth is 85 mm, and the diameter of the Moon is 18 mm.
Note: tellurium contains small parts! Do not allow small children to play with tellurium without supervision.
