Leczo Bence - A falu all férfija

Bence Leczo's first volume is like a traveling circus coming to town. It has freak shows, twisted sci-fi ideas and small grotesques, paying homage to great masters like Kafka or Aesop. Bowing to his predecessors and carefully choosing them makes for a particularly strong field, and it is a fitting addition to the young writer's toolbox. The ghost of Andersen and Edgar Alan Poe waits in the tent of the dancing table, after the thrill of the Victorian crime novel, someone speaks to us in the carnival, further, more familiar locations from the time of dualism are revealed, the fog knights raise their hats, Krúdy, Cholnoky, the Suacheli - the pub of the eternal town - and he quotes Rejtő, everyone can come here for a beer halfway to damnation, or a little closer. Leczo weaves the tale with a sure hand, his sentences carefully create the invented clamp for the soul, which we call a ballad, although he serves it in short prose, really diverse, yet already in his first volume, in his own voice. Let's dive into your cavalcade and have fun. Imre László Horváth
