Lauren K. Denton - A hurrikán éve

Betsy and Ty Franklin stopped having children a long time ago. Ty breeds cows on their farm in Alabama, while Betsy, who handles the day-to-day affairs of the dairy farm, buried her dreams of a child together. But when her younger sister, Jenna, who harbors artistic ambitions, leaves her daughters to them - "just for two weeks" - the carefully constructed walls begin to crumble. As the two weeks grow longer in the endless Alabama summer, Betsy and Ty must adjust to the new arrivals - and the fun that fills their house. The hot summer predicts a comical hurricane season, but the real storm rages in Betsy's soul - and that of her sister, who must reconcile her reviving artistic dreams with the life of a single mother. Hurricane Ingrid, headed for Alabama, threatens to wreak havoc on Betsy and Ty's dairy farm, but the wounds inflicted by the storm of the soul are even more difficult to recover from. Will they be able to do it? Lauren K. Denton's bestselling novel tells about unspoken family conflicts and the bumpy road to recovery.
