Product description
Ferenc Kozma of Kézszentlélek is one of the prominent figures of the cultural history of Transylvania in the 19th - 20th centuries. Educator, cultural organizer, publicist, corresponding member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. He was a promoter of the education and public education of Székelyföld and Transylvania with his practical pedagogical work and his public and journalistic activities. Ferenc Kozma, who came from a noble, priestly family, studied philosophy and pedagogy at the universities of Jena, Heidelberg and Zurich, and in the meantime traveled to many large countries in the German Empire and Switzerland. This book is a written version of the author's acceptance speech, the first edition was published in 1882. The study "Mythological elements in Székely folk poetry and folk life" published by the National Heritage Publishing House is an interesting piece of the popularizing, folk-cultivating work of the polymath writer. He collected rich material in these subjects among the people of Székely, and subjected the figures of our folk tales, the now exotic world of folklore, to a comparative investigation with the figures of folk poetry of other peoples. We can read an interesting and specific approach to the world of giants, fairies and witches, which is very 'human'.
