Saint László gave his soul back to his Creator in the 1095th year of the Lord. Before his death, however, he had one last, very important decision waiting for him. He had to name his successor on the royal throne. His last days were embittered by this tormenting question: Kálmán or Álmos? Finally, after much deliberation and struggle, he named Kálmán as his successor. With his decision, he started the feud that accompanied the entire reign of the new king, Kálmán Könyves.
The historical novel by Zsolt Kollár takes the reader to the beginning of the 12th century, which is a worthy continuation of his work The Testament of Saint László. A fast-paced, exciting story, which is completed by the detailed drawing of the characters of the main characters, the colorful depiction of the Árpád-era kingdom, and the presentation of the medieval cities of Esztergom, Jerusalem, Constantinople and Regensburg.
Kálmán and Álmos move forward in the struggle for the royal throne, trusting in their deep faith, sometimes consciously, sometimes uncertain of their emotions, or drifting towards the fulfillment of their destiny. They know: in the end, God will judge them anyway.
