Kis Petronella - Műfajok szimfóniája

The writings in the volume are organized around three themes: these are the literary and theatrical representations of history, death, and music, which I arranged based on motifs and the period depicted. The first half of the volume mostly proceeds chronologically along the history of the twentieth century, while the second part contains works that are less limited in time. I tried to select as colorful a repertoire as possible in terms of genres, from diaries to musically composed works of fiction to scientific essays, but also to juxtapose different approaches of the same era or genre. In this way, the reviews do not only show one work at a time, but also outline some of the possible processing methods of these themes in contemporary art in an intertwined, circular fashion. Kis Petronella (Cegléd, 1992) literary and theater critic, editor of the criticism section of Irodalmi Jelen, PhD student at Pázmány Péter Catholic University. His research area is the turn of the century and the oeuvre of Géza Csáth, media interactions mainly between literature and music, musical narration and compositional techniques of prose texts.
