Jonathan Lethem - Árva Brooklyn

Lionel Essrog, a Brooklyn orphan with Tourette's syndrome, and his three former orphanage companions work for Frank Minna, a small-time gangster who runs a detective agency disguised as a car rental company. Their lives would be unimaginable without their charismatic boss, so they don't mind that he entrusts them with not-quite-legal tasks. When Minna is murdered one day, one of Lionel's associates goes to prison, the other two start competing for the vacant position, and the victim's widow leaves town. The eccentric Lionel's life is suddenly turned upside down, and even though he has difficulty getting by even with everyday communication, he begins to untangle the threads of the complicated case.
Jonathan Lethem won wide recognition for his novel that pays tribute to hard-boiled crime stories, including the National Book Critics Circle Award. Based on the book, in 2019, Edward Norton directed a movie of the same name, in which he took on the main role, and the other roles are played by actors such as Bruce Willis, Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Willem Dafoe.
