Jens Bjorneboe - Semmelweis

Product description
More than fifty years after the Norwegian edition, the eccentric of Norwegian literature, Jens Bjorneboe's anti-authority play, Semmelweis, can finally be read in Hungarian. The play, which is still relevant to this day, on the one hand commemorates the world-famous Hungarian doctor, but at the same time - like almost all of Bjorneboe's writings - it stands up for freedom, against the oppressors, the oppressors and authoritarianism. Like Semmelweis's story, the play is not without its tragic features, Bjorneboe's main weapons appear in it: comedy, satire and liberating humor.
For Bence Patat's translation, Zsófia Domsa wrote an afterword explaining the author's background and the significance of the play.
