This novel is Jane Austen's last, unfinished work and its addition, to which the author herself originally gave the title The Brothers and Her Family Sanditon. The story takes place in Sanditon, a developing seaside town. The young girl comes from the countryside and finds herself face to face with the sophistication and indifference of the sparkling city life. Despite her best efforts, the innocent but sharp-minded Charlotte is enslaved by the eccentricities of the amazing Parker family, a noble family of dreamers and idlers; the restless Denham brothers; the ailing but extremely active Parker sisters and the compulsively observant Emmeline Turner. Charlotte quickly realizes what her task is. However, even the best efforts of this charming young lady do not seem to be enough to save the spa.
