Product description
"Emma Woodhouse really got everything that was beautiful and good from life: she was pretty, smart, rich, cheerful nature; she was already in her twenty-first year, but she had never been in serious trouble or sorrow."
With these lines begins the novel of Emma, who rightly ranks among the typical Austen heroines; and despite the many good qualities and favorable endowments mentioned, the writer certainly goes through the school of disappointments, minor and major sorrows and lessons learned with him.
At the center of the events is the love of three young couples who triumph over misunderstandings and quarrels. The scene, the environment here is the same as in other Austen novels: rural English mansions that live their seemingly serene and balanced lives, as if the country had nothing to do with the Napoleonic wars raging on the other side of the Channel. But the new sensitivity of the characters, the small moments of their social comedy, you can still feel that the world is in flux around them.
