Jane Austen - Büszkeség és balítélet (2022)

After Jane Austen, only six complete novels and a few fragments remained, but this relatively small oeuvre enriched literature with unique and timeless lines. His best-known and, according to many critics, his most significant piece is the novel Pride and Prejudice. Like Austen's other works, its tight structure, classic style, witty dialogues, magnificent psychology and, last but not least, the writer's brilliant intelligence make this an enjoyable read even today.
The novel moves in a narrow social circle, but features a wide range of magnificently characterized characters. The wealthy Mr. Bennet has a country estate, a silly and chatty wife, and five daughters. Jane, the eldest, beautiful and kind, also falls in love with Mr. Bingley, the tenant of the neighboring estate. But her friend, Mr. Darcy, who is a haughty, unpleasant figure, not only gets into tough arguments with Elizabeth, Jane's brilliant-witted and sharp-tongued younger sister, but also dissuades her friend from a marriage that does not suit her. Eliza misjudges Darcy, and when he unexpectedly asks for her hand in marriage, she misjudges his arrogance and rejects him.
By the end of the novel, both protagonists overcome their mistakes: one of them overcomes their pride, the other their prejudices, and they happily belong to each other, and of course there is no longer any obstacle to the other couple's happiness.
