The iFi ZEN Air DAC 2 is a USB-C digital-to-analogue converter with a built-in headphone amplifier, designed for high-quality listening at home with minimal setup. Its Cirrus Logic DAC chip delivers a natural, detailed sound, and compared with the previous generation it offers measurably better clarity, dynamics and distortion performance.
The balanced 4.4 mm headphone output reduces noise and crosstalk for a wider soundstage. According to the manufacturer, headphone drive power is up to 300% higher than its predecessor, and the unit supports PCM up to 384 kHz and DSD256. The XBass+ function emphasises low frequencies, while PowerMatch is designed to drive more demanding headphones.
The blue-black metal housing features a dedicated power button. It runs on 5 V USB-C power and provides 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm headphone outputs as well as a line output.
