The ICY DOCK MB901SPR-B R1 is a hot-swap drive cage that fits into two free 5.25-inch drive bays and holds two 3.5-inch hard drives. The drives can be swapped while the system is running, without shutting down the computer. The cage connects via SATA and supports RAID 1 (SAFE) and JBOD modes, making it a practical choice for data backup with mirrored drives or for simple storage expansion.
The cage is controlled by a JMicron JMS562 IC controller designed for reliable data transfer. Its connectors include two 15-pin SATA power connectors and one 7-pin SATA data connector. The black and silver housing is made from a combination of metal and ABS plastic and measures 146.4 × 85.8 × 185.6 mm, weighing 1.1 kg.
