ICYDOCK MB204MP-1B ExpressSlot Slide

The MB204MP-1B is equipped with removable drive trays that allow for tool-free drive removal and installation. Simply release the quick-release button to release the drive tray and access M.2 NVMe SSDs without the need for tools or screws. All M.2 sockets are compatible with different M.2 drive lengths from 30mm to 80mm (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280).

Designed with modularity and accessibility in mind, the MB204MP-1B is ideal for rack-mountable server environments where frequent drive replacement, rapid system maintenance, and space-saving design are critical. The compact, four-disk layout fits seamlessly into multi-unit rack-mountable enclosures, making it perfect for building scalable NVMe storage arrays. The fully removable drive module design provides quick access to M.2 NVMe SSDs without disturbing adjacent units, increasing both airflow and maintenance efficiency. System integrators and enterprise IT teams can rely on the MB204MP-1B for smooth NVMe deployments in data centers, video editing suites, and edge computing clusters.

The MB204MP-1B features an advanced cooling mechanism to maintain the optimal operating temperature of M.2 NVMe SSDs. Each removable drive tray has an aluminum heatsink cover that effectively dissipates the heat generated by the SSDs. The included thermal pads ensure efficient heat transfer from the SSDs to the aluminum heatsink, maximizing cooling efficiency. Additionally, the airflow design directs air through the system, quickly expelling hot air and providing a cool environment for the SSDs. The unit is equipped with a 50mm fan to further enhance cooling. For systems that require adequate cooling or environments that require minimal noise, the MB204MP-1B fan has an on/off switch that allows users to disable the fan as needed.

The advantage of using the PCIe 4.0 interface is that it provides power and data traffic through a single PCIe expansion slot, reducing the number of cables in the system. In addition, the lightning-fast 64 Gbps transfer rate is significantly faster than SATA III, making it ideal for data-intensive applications such as machine learning, cloud computing, data mining or even image processing.

The MB204MP-1B is equipped with LED indicators on the PCIe front panel that show the drive's power and activity status. LEDs automatically turn off when no drive is detected to save power.

The MB204MP-1B is compatible with Intel® VROC (Virtual RAID-on-CPU) and AMD PCIe 4.0 NVMe RAID, allowing you to create a bootable RAID 0/1/5/10 array with up to four M.2 NVMe 4.0 SSDs without an expensive RAID controller card. Additionally, the removable SSD tray design allows SSDs to be replaced without disconnecting the MB204MP-1B from the PCIe slot, making drive maintenance a more efficient and simpler process.

Note: MB204MP-1B acts as a bridge to the host (motherboard)
