    Product description

    This ICM set recreates the Marston Mat, the steel landing mat system used by US forces during the Second World War, in 1:72 scale. Made up of pierced steel planking panels that interlock, the system allowed American units to quickly build temporary airfields and runways over a wide range of terrain.

    All parts are produced from entirely new moulds, giving a detailed and accurate reproduction. The characteristic perforated pattern of the panels and the interlocking mechanism are faithfully rendered, reflecting the appearance of the original steel surfacing.

    The kit is a good addition to airfield dioramas, WWII scenes or any model layout depicting US Army field infrastructure. Assembly and painting require glue and paint, which are not included.
