The HP LTO-9 Ultrium 45TB WORM Q2079W is a tape cartridge for tape drives that stores data in a write-once, read-many format, so written content cannot be altered afterwards. This makes it suitable for long-term archiving and backup where data integrity must be guaranteed. The cartridge weighs 500 g and is not oversized.

Compared with the original LTO-6 at 2.5 TB, LTO-9 offers 620 percent more capacity, with 18 TB native. Native transfer performance reaches up to 1.44 TB per hour, but this is only possible in full-height drives.

Built-in AES 256-bit encryption according to IEEE 1619.1 is supported from LTO-5 through LTO-9, and carries FIPS 140-2 Level 1 certification. Stored data remains protected even if the cartridge is lost or falls into the wrong hands.
