Hoya engineers have developed a new antistatic coated filter that acts like a force field, the filter repels dust. The existing technology on the Pro1D filter was fused with the new coating and a new product was born. Its name is FUSION antistatic.

In imperfect environments where dust is common, these filters require less cleaning and maintenance than traditional filters. In addition, its antistatic top layer is water-repellent, stain- and scratch-free, and easy to clean if dirt or fingerprints get on its surface.

The new FUSION antistatic filters are made in Japan using hand-selected silicates that have been thoroughly mixed and fused into high-performance optical glass. Hoya applies with special care and precision the Improved 18-layer Super Multi coating surface treatment, which significantly reduces or eliminates reflection on the glass surface and gives ultra clear high optical quality.

The new FUSION antistatic filters are made of a light, low-profile aluminum frame, which has received an anodic oxidation coating. The one-piece design of the filter frame allows it to maintain perfect parallelism with the sensor plane for maximum sharpness, while the low-profile frame eliminates vignetting on ultra-wide-angle lenses.
