Hoya's engineers have developed the latest ANTISTATIC anti-reflective coating, which acts as a repulsive force field around the filter and prevents it from getting dirty, that is, it repels dirt that would otherwise settle on the surface of the filter. Applying the new coating technology to the Pro1D filters, a new product line, FUSION Antistatic NEXT, was born.
Compared to traditional coated filters, the new FUSION Antistatic NEXT series color filters require less frequent cleaning and maintenance, and as a result, they are also excellently suitable for use in environments where the presence of dust and other impurities is common. In addition to all this, the hardened (resistant), antistatic top layer is also water repellent, stain and scratch resistant, and can be easily cleaned from stains and fingerprints on the filter surface.
The new FUSION Antistatic filters are manufactured in Japan from carefully selected silicates, which are carefully melted and mixed to obtain optical glass with excellent properties. After that, Hoya applies the improved 18-layer Super Multi-Coating coating with extreme attention and precision, which greatly reduces or completely eliminates reflections on the glass surface and ensures extremely high light transmission (light transmission) efficiency. All this also means that the filter has virtually no effect on the color balance, contrast and clarity of the finished image.
The housing of the new FUSION Antistatic series filters is light and narrow, aluminum with an anodized oxide coating on its surface. The manufacturing process formed from a single block ensures on the one hand that the filter fits perfectly parallel to the plane of the image sensor (sensor), which is necessary for maximum image sharpness, and the low-profile (narrow) socket eliminates the danger of shading (vignette) of the image corners when using ultra-wide-angle lenses.
The members of the new FUSION Antistatic filter series are Protector, UV and Circular Polarizer (circular polarizer), which are available in standard sizes in the size range of 37 – 82 mm.
