Horváth László Imre - A Small embere

Gábor Péter, nicknamed "the Little One", is the feared leader of the communist state police. His confidant is Utisz (i.e. "Nobody"), the former waiter of the exclusive Kirké Klub and, after the war, the fun-loving boss of the Küklopsz Cave, where only Soviet advisers can enter. His task is also to facilitate the illegal money-making machinations of the all-powerful Party. We would search for his name and things he wore, his delicate and secret services in vain in archives. In the novel of Utisz's reminiscences, the tragic twentieth-century Hungarian history is presented from a frivolous perspective. quoted. You can say that it is one of the most important. Comrade Rákosi and Comrade Vas commissioned me to find a suitable person for this task. It's a very delicate matter. It is also a saying, moreover, Comrade Rákosi told me yesterday that a well-functioning cart requires not only a carriage, an axle and a wheel, but also the little dirt that is used to coat the wheel hub so that the wheel does not squeak and runs smoothly.& #13; - Brilliant man. - That's right, that's right. Then maybe one day you will get to know him personally. - So I will be the filth? - You don't have to see it that way. I say that you will actually be of great service. - Do I have to get money for your wars? - This is your war, everyone's war, for a just society. - That's right. - So you agree? - I don't think I have any other choice. - It would be better , if you would do it more enthusiastically. It would be a better feeling to tell Comrade Rákosi tomorrow morning that you enthusiastically agreed, and everything will be fine, you are already our man, a very useful man. - Then I will enthusiastically accept it. 10;– Correct, correct."
