HERTZ ML 700.3 Mille Legend midrange driver

The Hertz ML 700.3 Mille Legend is a car midrange speaker designed to expand a two-way speaker system. It is installed in the vehicle and works best with a passive crossover such as the MPCX TM.3 or an active DSP processor such as the S8, which the manufacturer recommends for tuning. The result is a more detailed and balanced midrange sound at higher output levels.

The speaker combines several engineering features. A neodymium magnet optimised with FEA simulation, a CNC-machined low-carbon steel frame and a copper-clad center pole support strong performance. The paper cone is reinforced with cotton fibres, and its exponential V-Cone geometry aims for linear response. The three-spoke aluminium alloy basket with ventilation openings is designed to resist resonance. Each unit weighs 210 g.

The Boundary Free surround uses a butyl rubber IIR surround that gives the cone a wider emission surface than a speaker of the same diameter. This allows it to move more air, delivering greater acoustic pressure and a clear, natural reproduction of vocals and speech.
