The GL.iNet Slate 7 (GL-BE3600) is the manufacturer's first dual-band Wi-Fi 7 travel router that combines advanced networking features with a compact design. It provides a total wireless transfer speed of up to 3,570 Mb/s, which reaches up to 688 Mb/s on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 2,882 Mb/s on the 5 GHz band. Equipped with a 1.1 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor, 1 GB DDR4 RAM and 512 MB flash memory, it ensures smooth operation even under heavy load. Thanks to its compact dimensions (130 x 91 x 34 mm) and weight of 295 g, it fits easily in a bag or backpack, providing fast and secure Internet access during business trips, vacations and remote work.

Intuitive control thanks to the built-in touch screen

The outstanding feature of the Slate 7 is the touch screen, which greatly simplifies network management without having to log into the administration panel. It allows you to quickly display the QR code to connect to Wi-Fi, monitor the transfer speed in real time, turn the VPN on and off, and switch between the configured VPN services. Color-coded indicators also indicate the current connection mode – such as Ethernet, tethering, repeater or cellular network – providing convenient access to the router's most important functions.

Wi-Fi 7 for maximum performance and multi-device support

The router uses the Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) standard, which offers Multi-Link Operation (MLO), enhanced OFDMA, 4K QAM and Preamble Puncture technologies. These solutions increase bandwidth, reduce latency and improve connection stability in congested network environments. Thanks to advanced network resource management, Slate 7 can support more than 120 devices simultaneously, ensuring smooth data transfer during 8K streaming, online gaming, video conferencing and everyday work.

Secure VPN connections and privacy

The device has built-in OpenVPN and WireGuard® support and is compatible with over 30 VPN providers. The maximum connection speed is up to 385 Mb/s with OpenVPN-DCO, and up to 490 Mb/s with WireGuard®, effectively ensuring data transfer without significantly affecting the Internet experience. The router can connect to an external VPN server and act as its own VPN server, allowing secure access to corporate resources, home servers, network printers, and other devices on your local network.

Powerful hardware and fast wired connections

The Slate 7 has two 2.5G Ethernet ports - WAN and LAN - that allow you to take advantage of high-speed Internet connections and provide a stable wired connection for computers, game consoles, NAS servers and multimedia devices. Users can also use a USB 3.0 port to connect external storage devices. The router has 1 GB of DDR4 memory and 512 MB of NAND Flash memory, which provides enough resources to support complex network configurations and additional functions.

OpenWrt and extensive customization options

The router runs on OpenWrt 23.05 (Linux Kernel 5.4.213), which offers extensive expansion and configuration options for advanced users. Thanks to the ample memory, you can install many add-ons and plug-ins, which can help you block ads, monitor network traffic, implement additional security measures, or create custom configurations tailored to specific applications, among other things.
