The short novel that is the basis of the SYFY series and five more stories that have not been read before in Hungarian!
The spaceship named Night Hunter is on a special mission. He is looking for an alien species called the Volkrin, which according to early legends and records are one of the oldest sentient species in space, but no one has ever encountered them. Now, however, the ship's small scouting party has found a sure clue: they have learned about the location of a Volkrin ship, and they are persistently heading towards it, through the dark eddies, the void and the endless silence. Their journey is long and isolated from everything, and over time strange things and unexplained deaths happen. The crew members embark on a desperate investigation laced with paranoia before being consumed by total madness.
Nighthunters presents George R.R. Martin's sci-fi side unknown to many through a blisteringly tense horror story, which he describes in his own words as Psycho in space. The short novel written in 1980, awarded with the Locus and Seiun awards and nominated for the Hugo Award, is one of Martin's best science fiction stories, which was recently made into a television series. The work can be found in a new translation in the volume, together with a short novel (A Féreg Háza) and four other short stories, which were not previously published in Hungarian. They all take place in the sci-fi universe of Martin Ezer világ, which has been relegated to the background since the worldwide success of Game of Thrones, even though it is the location of no less original and exciting stories.
