Product description
Róbert Koltai scares us already in the introduction of his book: "This book will probably be the last one in which I remember my past decades, my colleagues and my friends". Obviously this will also be a joke - the reader may think. It is difficult to take this statement seriously from someone who enjoys , talks about acting - this "jealous profession" - with a special taste, about the adventures he experienced with friends and colleagues like him.
Reading his latest book, we may feel as if we are watching a Koltai film: he describes the scenes with his usual humor, experience or with a seriousness appropriate to the situation and what is to be said, the events undulating in his momentum and emotional charge come alive before us. He also talks honestly about his mistakes, and reveals details that we would look for in vain elsewhere: we can find out who inspired Comrade Illétékes' characteristic mouth posture, and for which film he intended Zóbaasszony, come home! title and who had the biggest influence on him in becoming an actor. He reveals what he benefited from the quarantine, what the "cancer hell" of the acting profession is, how he got the role of Uncle Kálmán in the Dear Heirs, and why he wants to try what it's like to be a cat.
We just read and turn the pages, giggle and stare, time flies, and at the end of the book we are satisfied that - just like the previous ones - we had a great time. Then we wake up with some dissatisfaction: Is it over yet? Well, don't... Tell me more, Uncle Gyuszi! Or Mr. Bakter or Naftalin... it doesn't matter in which role, just keep going!
