Etteilla - Etteilla Tarot
not available
Product description
In 1781, the French Swiss Protestant clergyman and occultist Antoine Court, who called himself Court de Gébelin, published in a massive work in Le Monde the idea that the Tarot was actually a book of ancient Egyptian secret wisdom. There is no evidence to support the assumption that the tarot is of Egyptian origin, but Etteilla responded with another book to prove it, Manière de se récréer avec le jeu de cartes nommées Tarots in 1785. This was the first book of Tarot divination methods. Etteilla claimed to have been introduced to the art of cartomancy in 1751, long before Court de Gebelin's work was published. The card is available in a boxed version. The card consists of 22 cards. Language: French
