Product description
Role playing, vulnerability, jealousy, delusion, sensuality and drama. Is this the main test or just the test of life?
A huge scandal upsets the seemingly peaceful everyday life of the girls' high school, when it turns out that one of the school's teachers had an affair with an underage student. The case is accompanied by indignation, concern, restlessness and, of course, a long line of rumors, since everyone has an opinion about the relationship between an adult man and a child girl. What fuels these emotions? The anger? The fear? The envy? How many people are affected by a love affair, and how many lives are turned upside down when it comes to light? What can be done when it is not in the interest of one of the school's strictest instructors to silence the jealousy and curiosity of his students, who are confused by the incident? A chain reaction with unforeseeable consequences is set off, which brings to the surface deeply dormant emotions and repressed emotions from both teachers and students.
In 2013, New Zealander Eleanor Catton published her novel The Brights, at the age of twenty-eight, for which she received the Man Booker Prize, making her the youngest awardee in the history of the prize. The Trial is Catton's multi-acclaimed first novel, originally published in 2008, which has not lost any of its relevance in the past ten years.
