Eaton also offers a new Environmental Monitoring Probe (EMP) Gen 2 (EMPDT1H1C2), a second generation environmental monitoring probe for the Gigabit NIC. The new EMP retains all the functions of the previous generation sensors (temperature, humidity and dry consumption monitoring), while adding the possibility of daisy-chaining (up to 3 per machine), allowing multiple sensors to be connected to a single machine. This increases the richness of rack-level environmental data for the top, middle, and bottom of the rack. The new sensors have a transparent cover and an integrated LED to positively identify the status of each sensor at a glance while walking through the aisles.
